Global road train demand to go full throttle, according to recent findings.
A significant increase in the sale and use of mega trucks, or road trains as they’re called, is being predicted in a new study of industry trends.
The Global Mega Trucks Market Forecast to 2025 was completed by research firm Frost & Sullivan.
It says worldwide sales penetration of mega trucks, i.e., multicombination capable prime movers, is expected to rise from 3.4 percent to 5.7 percent for all total heavy duty vehicle sales from 2016 to 2025.
Purchasing trends of the higher capacity semis are expected to grow by just more than 10 percent per year.
The report says they can help ease traffic congestion, reduce emissions and cost per tonne [operation expenses divided by the total production] and meet the growing freight demand.
